This month’s MAD//Fest was our biggest and best ever with content across 9 stages, over 3 days! Over the next week we’ll be adding all the sessions onto our own YouTube channel but as a teaser, the action from the Kantar Marketplace Hexagon Stage is already live!

To help you to navigate the breadth of sessions on the Hexagon Stage that are now available to you on YouTube, we thought we’d start by picking out three 'standing room only' sessions, (one from each day).

Day One. 2 July: Fortune Favours The Bold Panel

We opened this year's festival with a context setting panel discussing what this year’s MAD//Fest theme, ‘Fortune Favours The Bold’, means in practice for marketers. The panel was chaired by ex Britvic CMO, Matt Barwell, with Mitch Oliver, VP Corporate Brands + Purpose, Mars, Kenyatte, Chief Membership + Customer Officer, Co-op, and Michelle Spillane, Managing Director, Marketing, Paddy Power in the hot seats. They discussed how marketers should do things that scare them, embrace chaos and messiness because that’s where brilliance hides, and how you bring the C-suite with you on the journey of being bold. Want to know what being bold means for a marketer? Then watch.

Day Two. 3 July: Susan O’Brien, Global VP Brand, Just Eat Takeaway.com

Just Eat is one of the great turnaround stories. In as little as 5 years it has been transformed from a functional delivery app to a global and instantly recognisable powerhouse brand. (If on reading this you do not have the ‘Did anybody say….’ mnemonic in your head, what’s wrong with you?!?!) A brand that has worked with an array of iconic celebrity talent, from Snoop Dogg to Katy Perry, Latto, and Christina Aguilera, Susan O’Brien, Just Eat’s Global VP Brand, tells us the story of how this all happened in the midst of global pandemics, hurriquakes and cleavage crises.

Day Three. 4 July: Andrew Smith, Senior Director Brand, Vinted

The Vinted journey is one that should be filed under, ‘how to do marketing right’. Vinted's great and powerful brand building has promoted rapid growth, and has been accompanied by a great sustainability and community story. Senior Director Brand, Andrew Smith talks about how this strong brand identity and innovative business model has fuelled impressive growth and how leveraging that brand has achieved sustainable, (in both senses of the word), success. A challenger brand that really is rewriting the marketing playbook.

All the Hexagon sessions are now on our YouTube channel. Great to watch whilst you’re on the beach, on the train, or at work!  And over the course of the summer and next few months, we'll be summarising and highlighting several of the standout keynotes, so you can have a weekly dose of marketing inspiration!
